OVERVIEW

Accounting practice in Tweed Heads servicing 669 client groups across individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self-managed super funds, with strong representation in construction and trades, hospitality, primary production and allied health.

The practice runs on a modern cloud-based platform, with a stable local team supported by offshore resources.

This opportunity may suit an established firm seeking to expand into the Tweed and southern Gold Coast market, or a practitioner looking to acquire a profitable practice with a capable, long-tenured team already in place.

REASON FOR SALE

The principal is planning for succession and is seeking a transition partner while still actively working in the practice. The principal intends to remain with the business for a minimum of four years after completion, with flexibility on the arrangement, to support client and team continuity. The premises lease expires in late 2028, giving an acquirer a natural opportunity to relocate or consolidate the practice.

REVENUE MIX

INVESTMENT HIGHLIGHTS
  • Recurring Revenue: 57% of income is under service agreements with monthly direct debit through Ignition. Fees are quoted before work begins and returns are not lodged until fees are paid, keeping debtor exposure low.

  • Diversified Client Base: No single client represents more than 6% of fees, and the top 10 clients account for approximately 17%.

  • Stable, Experienced Team: Approximately 11 FTEs, with most team members in place for five or more years. All professional staff have signed employment agreements that include non-compete and non-solicitation clauses.

  • Modern Operating Platform: Xero Practice Manager, FYI, BGL360, Ignition and the full Microsoft 365 suite, with cybersecurity handled by a managed IT provider. Workflow automation is already in use, and scheduling automation is in progress.

  • Growth Opportunities: The vendor reports a significant rise in new client enquiries and is currently selecting which clients to accept. Business advisory is under 1% of revenue, leaving clear room to grow advisory services across the existing base.

TRANSACTION OVERVIEW
  • Structure: Acquisition, merger or progressive buy-in will be considered.

  • Transition: The principal will remain with the practice for a minimum of four years to support client retention and handover.

  • Consideration: Transaction terms subject to due diligence and agreement.
